This is mostly a take-out/delivery Chinese place, but we came in for the dine-in experience, since it was the only non-pizza place within walking distance of our hotel. We both got dinner combinations, and there was a lot of food for the money - good sized entrees, rice, egg roll, and soup for two for about $20. I had General Tso's Chicken - lots of breaded chicken in a spicy sauce. yum! The wife had sesame chicken - tasted mostly similar, but less spicy. The hot and sour soup was good -- and served hot! Egg roll, rice, little crispy wonton chips rounded out the meal. At the time of night that we went, we were the only dine-in customers, while a string of people came in to pick up take out orders. Staff stayed busy the whole time. While the dining area is not too fancy, the tables and chairs were nicer than at most quick-serve places. (I wouldn't say that this place is quick serve - not slow, but since they cook to order, we waited a little bit). You know a place is serving Americanized chinese food when some of their combination plates come with the option of french fries or pork fried rice. but the food was delicious and the portions were large. we ended up bringing back leftovers! they accept all credit cards, have their own parking lot, and are open till 10:30 on weeknights.

The food is typical American Chinese. But it is decent and the customer service is grest. Prices are reasonable.

I mean, you get what you ask for in Chinese take/out. It's almost always the same bland replicate able stomach churning meal... That a lot of people love. But for a food buff such as myself, places like this don't cut it As a rule of thumb, I judge a Chinese takeout by the quality of hot and sour soup, and this one was a 2/5. In fact, I received egg drop soup instead of hot and sour but my friend was generous enough to give me some of his pint. The general's chicken wasnt too bad and the fried rice was flavored well but a bit dry.

Ordered for the first time last night for delivery. I just moved here from Seattle and we have great Chinese food. This is so-so. Nothing special, very basic. Would deliver again if I was craving Chinese was too lazy to drive somewhere and wanted it to be delivered. Delivery was between estimated time so was good!

I will definitely order from this place again. Decent Chinese food at good prices with an easy to use online ordering system. Who wouldn't love it? We got some of the standards (BBQ spare ribs, lo mein, fried rice and a couple of combo meals). The ordering system made it really easy to choose how much we wanted, multiple quantities and which discount we wanted based on the order size. Who doesn't love a free extra entree for ordering more than $30 of food? There's also a good variety of dishes available, including several Vegetarian options.

Not pleased with the service or food at all. First they took an hr and a 15 minutes for our delivery, so of course my food was cold. The soup was thick and cold, the chicken was disgusting, and the rice was something left out and about for probably hours. The only thing good was the egg roll. Second, the driver was asking weird personal questions about my residence. Won't be coming back and will not recommend.

Ordered the honey garlic chicken because I wanted something sweet & crunchy. It was neither. some chopped up chicken breast deep fried in 1/4" thick tasteless batter. It wasn't honey but honey water with burned garlic in it. Disgusting. Threw it in the garbage. Ate the shrimp chow mein because it has been decent and was again. All I can say is be careful what you order. I thought I would also try the egg roll because the fried won ton have been very good with a nice amount of filling but the egg rolls sucked. Just fried tasteless dough. Wasn't even crunchy.

We've ordered from them before and the food is decent. Not the best, not the worst. Decent. The delivery, however, leaves much to be desired. First of all, no matter how many times we order online and change our address when we check out, they keep trying to deliver our food to the place we lived a year ago. Our confirmation e-mail has the correct address, but for some reason they don't deliver there. Then there was today's experience, which made this the last time we will ever order from them. We called up at 8.15PM and ordered a fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. Nothing major. We were hungry and we didn't want to cook and figured it would take about a half hour. That time came and went. At 45 minutes, I called them. They said they were busy and asked for my order info. I gave it to them. They said it had just gone out for delivery and it would be there within 15 minutes. 15 minutes comes and goes. I call again. They give me some BS excuse about "two new drivers" and "it will be there soon." No offer for a discount... Just don't tip the driver. They wouldn't even refund the delivery fee. NOTHING. So we left and went to Pollo Tropical. So we're sitting there at Pollo Tropical and my phone rings. They finally got to our house. AT TEN PM. A full one hour and forty five minutes after we placed the order. This place is WALKING DISTANCE from where we live. If the man who answers the phones is to be believed, it took this guy 45 minutes to drive five blocks. I can't even imagine how cold the food would have been after sitting in a car for 45 minutes. Never again.

Chen's Garden seems to have made changes in the last few years. Most recently I ordered take-away dinner from them twice in three days and couldn't be happier. Their tofu, vegetables, rice, spring rolls, and crispy noodles are delicious and make for delightful leftovers. And inexpensive! Less than $20 for two people, and portions enough for 2 or more meals per person.

A hole in the wall kind of place. The americanize chinese food is below average, bute the portion is big. Without a car at Friday night at 10pm, this was pretty much the only option.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
